5 most romantic Bollywood movie quotes of all time

When we talk about Bollywood and Romance, the best word to describe these two is ‘inseparable’. Our Hindi cinema has always been loaded with enchanting romantic one liners, songs and endearments. And some of these romantic quotes from a few movies have become extremely popular in the history of Bollywood romance.

The 1972 Indian classic film that was written and directed by Kamal Amrohi is amongst one of the top-rated movies of all times. The Meena Kumari- Raj Kumar starrer Pakeezah has many romantic movie dialogues, but the one that took away all applauds and touched the audience’s heart is:

Mughal – e – Azam, a movie of the 1960’s is an epic historical drama movie directed by K. Asif. It was the biggest blockbusters of all time and the audience at that time stood up in long queues to buy tickets of this amazing movie. Every scene performed by the supremely talented Dilip Kumar and Madhubala has a quintessential charm to it. While it is very difficult to choose the best romantic dialogue from the film, here’s our favorite:

3. Silsila

Everyone who saw this movie was in love with the chemistry the leading pair of the movie Amitabh-Rekha displayed on-screen. While there were many dialogues we loved in Silsila, this one is our most favorite:

“Main aur meri tanhai aksar yeh baatein kartein hain tum hoti to keisa hota, tum yeh kehti, tum vo kehti tum is baat pe hairaan hoti, tum us baat pe kitni hasti tum hoti to aisa hota, tum hoti to vaisa hota.”

Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, also popularly known by its initials DDLJ, is undoubtedly the best romantic Bollywood movie of the 1990’s. Directed by Adiyta Chopra, Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge was the highest grossing Bollywood film of the year. And when it comes to the legendary dialogue of this movie who can forget:

“Aisa pehli baar hua hai satrah athrah saalon mein undekha anjaana koi aane laga hai khayalon mein aankhon ki khidki par ek saya sa lehrata hai dil ke darwaze par koi dastak de ke jaata hai.”


Kuch Kuch Hota Hai

This 1998 romantic drama written by Karan Johar, has got many romantic dialogues. But the best one was indeed:
